harvest hustle 2012

Every month, nearly 300 families in the Plainfield area are able to put food on their table because of the ongoing work of the Christian Support Center’s food pantry (located at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 710 East Buchanan Street, Plainfield, IN, 46168). Now we all have an opportunity to join the pantry in battling the poverty and hunger that exists in our own backyard. On September 8, 2012, 9:00am, Reunion Church is partnering with the Plainfield Recreation and Aquatic Center to host The Second Annual Harvest Hustle, a special 5k run/walk to help raise funds for the Christian Support Center’s food pantry. If you would like to participate in the 5k, click here to download a brochure that offers all the information you will need about the event and the waiver and registration forms that must be completed and mailed in. (Note: Each participant must sign their own waiver and fill out their own registration form.) Those who register before August 22, will receive a t-shirt on the day of the event. This year we will be hosting a Kids’ Fun Run at 10:00am (after the main 5k event) for kids 12 and under. Information concerning our Fun Run event is also included in our downloadable brochure.

To help raise the most funds possible, and to provide our participants with the excellent experience they deserve for taking part in the Harvest Hustle, we need area business leaders to partner with us. We are on the lookout for area businesses and area business leaders that would be willing to give us a donation to help us host the event and assure a solid financial base for our gift to the pantry. We’re looking for gifts of $250 (gold level), $100 (silver level), and $50 (bronze level). Aside from financial gifts, we are also looking for prizes to give to our top runners. Of course, we are certainly open to folks providing both — a donation and a prize of some sort! Any help would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way toward helping the support center in its mission to feed the hungry.
